ONE WEEK TO GO!
On this dig in Belchite, we hope to recover some of the story of our mother's brother, Sidney Shosteck,who died there in 1937. Memories of the Spanish Civil War have been buried both in Spain and our family.
I'll be interested too, to see my grandmother's brother's story rebuilt...I was named for Sidney and have a plaque remembering him over my fireplace. Had he and his comrades succeeded in their fight, we might not have had WWII...they were real heroes.
Salve and his IBAP crew will be able to show tou where Sydney was shot by a sniper as he worked with a prisoner behind a captured tank to identify wnemy positions as they entered the town.
